Foldable Smart Phones are Almost Here (28th July 2019)
Both Samsung and Huawei have now release dates for their foldable phones, they will come out on end of the 3rd Quarter of 2019 - very soon that is.
The idea behind foldable is that it is both your phone as well as your (mini) tablet, as by folding it open you double the screen size of your device. Quite a clever idea indeed. Samsung Galaxy Fold release/trailer video here. Huawei Mate X release/trailer video here. And an unknown (Royole Flexpai) that's already sold here. |
Microsoft Mixed Reality & Azure AI services (17th July 2019)
Distance and language no longer matter - you can have a real virtual Avatar that can do your visual presence presentations in any country in any language - this is the premise of Neural TTS, and impressive it is indeed.
Your dimensions, clothes and hair style gets copied on the Avatar and then with the Power of HoloLens audiences can view you presenting on their own language. And what they did not say, this actually means in your preferred language, all at the same time. Hacker side worries me a bit, but this is going to be the future whether we like it or not, here is the article too. |

CIO Who Lives and Breathes Spatial article (26th April 2016)
This is an article my friend Divina (Paredes) wrote after series of chats on what the heck does spatial actually mean and why should anybody else care.
I think she picked up well the values that I have tried to push across all my professional career and values that Spatial Industry is still not understanding - not because of any kind of superiority, but because spatial industry has been "special" for a long time and people just cannot change that fast. With younger generations - maybe a problem no longer. |
CIO NZ Magazine Spring 2015 Article (16th October 2015)
A nice 4-page article on me and my colleague and what we do in our Strategic Consultation team. The whole online magazine can also be found here. Our article starts from page 40.

Location Intelligence Must Be Main Stream (25th August 2014)
For a while now Business Intelligence products have been embedding Location Intelligence within their portals, dash boards and report builders. So to prove the point, I picked one of the business intelligence tools out there - not the one with largest audience, but one that is somewhere in the middle of the spectrum, IBM Cognos - so I can showcase below with 3 videos how Esri, Google and Mapinfo can be embedded within this BI tool.
